Footings and foundations are going in, 4 this week alone. It is no easy task, the size of the lots, mud, mud, and more mud and then of course lack of tools. But our brothers are getting it done and having lots of fun while do it. Each family that is being helped is getting involved in some way, either working with us or providing merianda (snacks) and drinks. They are so appreciative and it makes us happy to help!

on our way home! |
It has been explained to us why after this typhoon we are rebuilding using pre fab houses. Year after year the islands have been hit hard with typhoons and it has become obvious that the time it is taking the friends to rebuild their homes has been long, many have become discouraged and miss many meetings and fall out of their routine. The love and concern for their spirituality has made the brothers rethink what to do this time and the idea of building these homes quickly, that are sturdy and should with stand future storms would be a good idea. It has been really, really nice being a part of this and it reminds us everyday of the beautiful organization we belong to...
How loving of the brothers to think of how they can help the local brothers remain spiritually strong by helping them with a home that can withstand the storms.
