All In A Hard Days Work.....OK 4 days:)

A few days have past and much has been done! After thinking about the process for building these pre fab homes for a day or so, Adam came up with an idea that he thought could really speed things up and that it did! Large and small homes were being built 3 times as fast and the boys loved it as did the overseer! The pictures below show how by using blue and red spray paint on the concrete, the steel stud forms can be built instead of measuring off the print every time which allows room for error…..speaking from experience lol
On Thursday we loaded up the first truck load of homes to be delivered!! Yay it was a good moment.
The next plan of action for next week is Adam and the other brothers here from the states, are going to visit some of the sites where the homes will be put together. There is some concern that the little path ways in an out of the home are so tight and narrow that the 16 ft wall make not make it through, so they are going to see what may need to be done to make this happen. Ron and Riley and some local brothers are out in the field prepping concrete footings/columns and laying plywood floors for houses up off the ground in the coastal areas. The challenge, every time they dig a hole water fills in because of the tides, it has been pretty interesting for them but they are making it happpen! With Jehovah’s help.

The weather has been fine, hot but not too bad and the food  has been pretty good as well. We are getting used to the local fish and rice diet for breakfast. We brought some creole seasoning and hot sauce but the locals loved it as much as we do and it is all but gone lol We are really getting to know the friends better here after being together for 5 days. Our hotel mates Ron and Riley could not be nicer brothers from Oklahoma and Kansas and we having lots of laughs riding the trikes to and from work and sharing a beer at the end of a long day!

Adam's suggestion going great!

WooHoo lots accomplished

working with a smile:)

Our boys:)

off they go to our brothers!

There has been an arrangement for us to go to the hardest hit areas coordinated with the local elders this weekend to provide some encouragement to our brothers living in makeshift tent/bamboo homes right where there house use to be. We are looking forward to meeting them. Unfortunately, our group of 4 has been hit hard with some flu/colds, hopefully we will all be better to go. If not this weekend we are sure it will be next weekend. Thanks for reading and for your emails!! xo
